Steampunk Dove, Daytime Photo

Other than the glue being dried and set, I haven't done anything else to it, but I did want to post a better quality photograph.

Work-in-Progress: Steampunk Dove

I'm about 3/4 of the way through this part of my latest piece (the glue is still drying, and I'm going to add feathers to the tail, and I'll be glazing the clay areas), so I wanted to give you all a little preview:

The glue stinks to high heaven, which is why it's on the stove--yay for oven fans!

It's about 6-8 inches wide (I haven't measured yet), and the color is more teal than straight blue.

Now, I want to hear from you. This is not a commissioned piece--it's just me following my own instincts, hoping to sell it on Etsy or locally (and at a price where I'll actually be able to pay a couple of bills, y'know, and all... ;) *ahem*). So, I want to know which you think I should make this into:

*An elaborate hat pin
*Part of an actual top hat
*Part of a 16x20" mixed media collage for the wall or mantle

I'm going to decide soon, so let me know in the comments here on the blog or on the Facebook page! After tomorrow (Sunday), there'll be no going back!

Steampunk Hat Pin and Goggles

Steampunk goggles! Completed 7/2/13, made from welding goggles, paint, and actual clock gears. Want it to look more aged? Let me know, and I'll add the tarnish/wear effect. The goggles go up on Etsy Thursday morning if no one local buys them (local purchases avoid shipping costs, so it's a good deal to get these pieces early!). Additionally, I can swap out the elastic band with a faux leather band with metal brads if requested for an additional cost, based on material costs. Goggles and hat pin are sold separately.

Steampunk Hat Pin!

Steampunk hat pin! Completed 7/2/13, made from polymer clay, costume feathers, copper and black metal wire, and metal necklace charm. It goes up on Etsy Thursday morning if no one local buys it (local purchases avoid shipping costs, so it's a good deal to get these pieces early!). Better photos coming soon in the daylight. Lamplight does tend to affect color perception, even after editing the photos. :)
